Avatars are, if I understood well, images one can add to its profile on forums. Normally the size has to be 80x80 pixels and mosttimes the KB's are limited too. I think it is a great challenge to make something nice with the given restrictions.

Offcource you don't have to make animated gif's but ''short-films'' I find the most exiting to built.

I spent a lot of time on the moving Yoda. First catch a peace of movie from a divX version of 'Attack of the Clones'. After that select an even smaller part using 'Virtual dub' and reduce frame-rate at the same time to get less images. Then a lot of experimenting using Ulead-gif-animator to get everythong within the 9KB. At the end I was only using 3 images with not many colors left. Above nicer but to heavy gifs. On the left the ones succesfull within the restrictions of the forum.

External linkage to my avatars is not permitted and prevented by my ''Watchdog'' software
'Watchdog' changes location and filenames once in while and because of this it could be possible
you don't see all avatars find when you visit this page because your visit is right at the ''change-moment''.

location and it will appear fine.

If you want to use one of my avatars just save it to harddisc and upload it to your own webspace.
